If you have been wondering where I went last week, let me tell you....hahahhaa...I went to Tokyo for 5 days.......well.....minus the travelling transit in day 1 and day 5....actual Tokyo time is 3+ full days. My great find this trip is: Kit Kat in Salty Flavor!!! Found it one midnight at a sundas store at Shibuya. Tried it. It is sweet on the outside with a little buttery flavour in the center. I cannot really say that it is salty at all. It is still sweet....but with a buttery taste......hummmm.......far below my expectation. I was thinking that maybe they put some salt grinds in the middle of a chocolate bar....then it would be more salty and interesting. Anyhow, I wanted to buy some more the next day to my HK friends but walked through at least 10 sundas, ampm, lawson, 7-11, etc. Only got 3 bags. Everything had been sold out. And the staff said this salty kit kat was a one-off special edition item. Sold out = no more forever. Great! I am keeping those 3 bags for myself then In the past 5 years that I was working here at this university, I had never taken any holiday in any teaching semester. And this is the first time I am taking 3 working days off in a teaching week in the middle of a semester. The reason is because my Tokyo tickets are free. I need to use them by March 22, 2010 and I figured that I did not have too much time to use up the tickets if I did not go in mid-Oct (I don't want to go when the weather is too cold). So, here I go. In the middle of the semester. It certainly feels wonderful. I used to hate semester A because it is so rush that I cannot even breath normally. Now with a short trip in the middle, it seems alot better to handle. In those 5 days, I did not think about work at all (well, except one morning when I had to reply some urgent emails plus one afternoon when I had to answer a urgent phone call from school - probably about my contract renewal). I was mainly focusing on enjoying life and enjoying spending time doing nothing important. It was a fun trip. Of course, I did not miss this great shopping opportunity. I went to a few shops that I liked. Bought some stuffs from some Japanese Brands that I liked (cheaper than buying them in HK even if they maybe available in HK). Ate some yummy food. Re-visited Disney where I went 12 years ago when I was still dating with this same guy. I love shopping and eating in Japan!!! Hope to go again soon. |
